Born in Málaga (Spain), Álvaro began his piano lessons under the guidance of Ana María Silva at the conservatory of his hometown finishing his degree with the highest graduating award before joining the class of Prof. Ángel Sanzo in Badajoz, Spain, where he completed his Bachelor in Music.
Álvaro got a Master´s degree in Music Performance at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy of Leipzig. In 2016 he joined the class of the legendary pianist Eliso Virsaladze in Florence. Currently he is finishing his Konzertexamen Diploma in Hamburg Hochschule für Musik und Theater with Prof. Stepan Simonian. Álvaro works as Dozent at the same school.
Álvaro has performed as recitalist, chamber musician (from duo to piano quintet) and concert pianist having performed with several orchestras such as Andalusian Youth orchestra or Symphonic Orchestras of Málaga and Badajoz. He has performed extensively in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Greece, United Kingdom and Poland in prestigious halls like Horowitz Saal, Steinway Haus, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Casa da Musica or Theater am Rand. Important festivals include Emil Gilels Festival (Freiburg), Festival Internacional de Jovens Pianistes (Oporto), Sermoneta Music Festival (Rome). Álvaro's pianistic repertoire ranges from the Baroque period to contemporary music from late 20th and 21st centuries.
In addition, Álvaro has received direct artistic influence from his three main teachers: Ángel Sanzo, Stepan Simonian and Eliso Virsaladze, as well as other exceptional artists such as Leonidas Kavakos, Andrei Gavrilov, Robert Levin, Jaques Rouvier and Claudio Martínez-Mehner. In 2018 he was granted with the Scholarship 'Live Music Now!' Álvaro’s piano skills have been awarded in both national and international competitions including ‘Esteban Sánchez’, ‘Pedro Bote’, 'Campillos', 'Classics on the Danube' and 'Albacete' as well as being awarded recitals across Europe playing solo and chamber music concerts. He is one of the finalist of 'Malta International Piano Competition' in 2021. Álvaro is a Gewa Artist.
